My 80th session of the year - best year ever :)

The mild breezy weather just goes on and on even if the wind strength never quite reaches the forecast! With the wind sw I was going to chose between The Manor and the Fludgers but decided to have a look at The Dip first, it looked lovely and smooth, sadly very little wind here as it's cross off, but Roger Vickers had just pulled into the car park. Then on reaching The Fludgers 4 windsurfers were already rigging including 2 Hurrells, sails ranged from 6.2 to 7.5, definitely more wind here but choppy:( It seemed a bit mean to leave Roger at The Dip so I went and got him, on returning sail choice was again a problem? Craig had just gone out with 6.5 and was planning so went with the 7 again as didn't fancy the 8.5, in hindsight my 7.8 would have been a better choice! I had my best speeds with the 7 but I was way under most of the time and with the wind up and down staying up wind was a pain:( always a problem here at The Fludgers! The tide got the best of Roger when the wind dropped and disappeared towards The Dip!!! I was getting fed struggling to stay upwind, there is nothing worse than sailing under-powered having to beat both ways just to stay in the same place so I came in and rigged the 8.5 and went out on the 147. I was a nice spell on the big kit now the tide had turned and I actually made it upwind!!! and broke 24 kts on it to:) Then the sky darkened and the wind picked so returned to the smaller kit before the wind went, I was lucky enough to be packed up just before the rain arrived! So not too bad a session as The Fludgers is not my favorite but nice to see 8 sailors enjoying the breeze.
